Intel 2915 ABG Wifi keeps disconnecting... solved!
I got a new D610 at work at the same time we got a new Inspiron 700m at home. Both would keep losing the connection to my home network, although several other computers have never had a problem. The only common denomitor was the INtel 2915 ABG card.
Well, 45 minutes on hold with Dell WiFi support was a big waste of my time. (Reinstall Windows... how is that going to help? Everyone is posting about this problem online... Oh yeah, I saw that too... You guys need to make new drivers... Yeah, that's probably right - try reinstalling Windows...)
So I finally found the latest drivers on the Intel site (version 9.0.3.9):
(Check here if you want to find them yourself):
Then I went in and changed the poer settings to always transmit at the highest power and to be as "sticky" as possible. Haven't had a problem since...

Still solved (yay!).
A colleague of mine at the office has the 2200. She had a similar problem - but it was losing signal strength and just not working as opposed to outright disconnecting. On hers, all we did was increase signal strength and that seemed to solve it.

I am going to try another WAP has a repeater and see if that helps.
I never had this issue with my preivous Dell laptop that used a PCMCIA Linksys card.
I guess from all the posts on this forum, it would appear that these cards do have issues (either hardware related or just not as powerful as the external ones).
Thanks for getting back to me.
