Intel 82567LM-3 Net Card

Just bought a dell OptiPlex 780 with the Intel 82567LM-3 Net Card. Finding out now that it's not a wireless card and either need to change something in the setting (if it is actually a wireless card), or need to find a compatible Net Card with Wireless capability to swap it out.

Am I missing something? Any suggestions for a quick plug and play card swap?

Hi bjenkins60,

Thanks for the post! The Intel 82567LM-3 is an Ethernet network adapter so only capable of supporting a wired connection. If you need to add wireless support to your 780 though there are several options available that you could look in to. The 780 supports internal wireless add in cards (different parts depending on chassis type) see page 13 & 21 of the service manual for details of the built in wireless options.

The simplest solution may be to add a USB wireless receiver. Many Wireless adapters are available that can easally be plugged into a USB port on the system providing wireless network connectivity. See the search bellow for a few options sold by Dell.
