intel centrino 6200 half mini card
just fitted a new wireless card in dell 1750 with win 7 and is not recognised as new hardware.
Device manager doesnt show it either. Tried picking it up by installing new driver but the driver just hangs. I think that the new card is faulty
Any ideas please?

Hi GeoMilly,
Welcome to the Community. This Inpiron 1720 has been tried and tested with the following Wireless Cards.
Dell Wireless 1397 802.11b/g half-height Mini-Card
Dell Wireless 1510 802.11a/g/n half-height Mini-Card
Dell Wireless 1515 802.11a/g/n half-height Mini-Card
Intel Wireless 5100n a/b/g/n half-height Mini-Card
I also suggest you check if the Wireless is enabled in the Bios. Press the F2 key at the Dell Logo on startup to enter the Bios. Move down to Wireless and press enter, under Wireless Switch, make sure Bluetooth, Wireless WLAN are checked to make sure they are enabled, also move down to Wireless Devices, and make sure Enable Internal Wireless, and Enable Bluetooth is checked. Press ESC to save changes and exit.
Use the below link on to install a Wireless Card on the system:

Hope this helps.
Thank you

geomilly,
Did you recently install/reinstall the operating system?
