Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN 3A mini-PCI update driver & BSOD
System: Latitude D600 (with Intel Pro/Wireless 2100 LAN 3A mini-PCI) running Windows 2000 SP4
A couple of days ago I updated my wireless NIC drivers with the new drivers (dated 13 Apr 04) from dell's website. I did this because the NIC wasn't being assigned a dynamic IP from my AP (nor another router when I tried using that as the DHCP server).
Following that update, I was confronted with a memory dump "blue screen of death" every time the PC resumed from time activated hibernation. (Note: Everything was fine following manually activated hibernation.) Disabling the wireless NIC prevented these BSODs and replacing the updated drivers with the original drivers on CD seems to have stopped these BSOD too.
Has anyone else had similar problems with the latest drivers for this wireless NIC? Also, is anyone else having problems getting a dynamic IP assigned with the original drivers?

Just had another BSOD. Although this is the first one in over 24hrs, evidently all is not well.
Looks like I'm heading for a complete reinstall. Sigh.
Edit: Reinstalled by reformating HD and installing WinXP Pro (instead of Win2000). 8hrs later (including: initial install; downloading numerous service packs, critical updates for XP & Office; and reinstalling all other software; reloading backed up data) I'm able to do something useful again. All the drivers now work as expected - even DHCP which was the original cause of my grief.
ps: I really hate the way Windows requires rebooting for just about every update - I must have done it at least dozen times in the last 8hrs!!!
