Internal Bluetooth for Inspiron 9100

Question

I wanted to get an internal bluetooth card for Inspiron 9100. Has anyone purchased a BT card for this computer before. I wanted to verify that the correct part number is 2U381.   Also, what cable is required for this card? I opened up the Bluetooth compartment where the battery is and there is a small cable there with a white insertion tip...is that whats required or is there another cable?

The same BT Module (Dell Truemobile 350) fits in most inspirons.  Look here for install instructions..http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/insxps/sm/blue.htm  (the i9100 and iXPS are identical here)   If you call spare parts as others on this forum have done, you can get the TM350 for around 25-30 dollars (including shipping) by asking for a W9242 part number.  If you get a new one from the upgrade center (as I did) the PN is 430-1320 and is identified as 'Dell TrueMobile 350 Bluetooth Module for Latitude D510 Customer Install' which will set you back $110.94 (including shipping.)   No cable is required as you allready have it (the one with the white insertion tip) LT

I just called Dell Spare Parts and bought the internal bluetooth card. Total price after shipping and tax was $38 but according to the receipt I got in the email the part number is T5152 and this order does come with a cable as well.

I am curious if someone know the make/model of the T5152.
I did a search on ebay and it is a Bluetooth card for I9100 and several other models.
All I did was give my Service Code to the rep and they found this part number.

I dont know if this is just the picture but that plug on the card looks bigger than whats on the cable that I saw in the computer...

I did a search (without the quotes) of 'bluetooth T5152'   If you want the TM350, get the part number, call Dell Spare Parts, give them your account number and the part number that you want to order. They may ask what you want it for. If needed make up something - like: it is a gift for your nephew's i9300 and you don't have the service tag.   The TM300 is less desireable than the TM350.

Should work with no problems.  My Truemobile 300 was PN 2U381 and TM 350 is W9242

1.2 is good enough for me but I see that in the order they charged me for the cable because the actual adapter is $16.
Hopefull the cable that I saw in the BT compartment is what I already need so that I can simply return the cable that they charged me for (they didnt mention that during the order)...

In your article you state that TM300 is Bluetooth 1.1 but isnt it 1.2?
All the specs that I was able to locate say its 1.2.

Anyways, if I can install this card using the existing cable which is already in the computer then it will be a good deal even if its BT 1.1 after I return the cable that Dell charged me for without telling me. It was strange because I only asked for the card without mentioning any cables then when the rep gave me the total I asked if the cable is included...she said yes...I thought great but then saw that they charge you seperate for the cable.
