Absolutley so. The best removers are AdAware from Lavasoft and Spybot. Check in the Windows XP forum for a complete list and unless youhave had some sort of anti-virus protection running from the beginning, a Blaster worm might be on there as well.
You say you installed Spybot, but did you update the spyware defintions, run it, and let it delete everything that it found. Just installing it will accomplish nothing.

I thought about that but the computer is only two weeks old. Could the spyware have been added the first time I logged on to the internet?
What is the best software to use to remove it?
