Internet connection drops off after being idle

I have a new Dimesnsion 3100 with on board networking. It is connected to a Zyzel router gateway that connects the DSL. When I turn the computer on the internet works. If I leave it idle for about half an hour and then try to go on the internet it says "this page cannot be found."

Msn messenger still works, and so does media player streaming radio stations. What is more bizarre is some forum sites work but google and msn.co.uk don't.

If I open newwork connections and click repair on the local area connection everything works perfectly again. Is this a bug that there is a patch for?

Found out the problem. I have two routers on my network both of which were set to gateway. I went to Run --> typed in commmand and then ipconfig/all at the prompt. I noticed that the DNS address was the one I assigned to the outher router. When I repaired the internet connection and typed in Ipconfig/all again the DNS server was for the router that actually has an internet connection. What I think was happening was the computer connected to the correct DNS server first and then found the other router later and connected to that. I've set the other routers status from "Gateway" to "Router" and that seems to have solved the problem.

Having a few beers didn't help but looking at it again after a hard exercise session seemed to help me get my head round it.
