Hi phillip lopez,

The Alienware M14X R2 system is offered with the following WLAN Half Mini-Cards.

  1. Wireless 380 Bluetooth Module
  2. Intel 2230, WiFi + Bluetooth half mini card
  3. Wireless card, Killer, N1202 + Bluetooth half mini card
  4. WiMAX/WiFi, Half Mini Card, Intel Link 6250, Dionysus (US Only)

If your laptop has “Intel Centrino Wireless-N 2230” or “Intel Centrino Advanced-N + WiMAX 6250”, there is a possibility your broadband Wi-Fi router does not support the “power save polling” (PSP) feature. There is are several workaround suggested by “Intel” to fix this problem. Please visit the following page for more details:

Try these fixes and reply with the results.

Hi phillip lopez,

I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request. I am sending you a private message as well. Respond to the message and provide the system's Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action.

Same problems for about a year (almost a year after purchasing) and also the Killer network card. My connection is kind of weird. Some times it works perfectly and sometimes I have got the same lagging problem that. Keeps on going like: 5 sec. connected, 5 sec. disconnected, 5 sec. connected, 5 sec. disconnected.

Try this it worked for me :

From the Intel PROSet/Wireless WiFi Connection Utility:

Click Advanced > Adapter Settings > Advanced tab.
Select Power Management, uncheck Default / Auto, and move the slider to Highest / Maximum Performance.
Note

If the slider is already at Highest / Maximum Performance, move the slider to another setting and then back to Highest / Maximum Performance.

Set CAM using network control panel applet (NCPA)

Put the wireless adapter into continuously aware mode using the following steps:

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
Double-click Network Connections.
Right-click the wireless connection and click Properties.
Click Configure.
Click the Advanced tab.
Select the Power Management setting, uncheck Default / Auto, and move the slider to Highest / Maximum Performance.

Thanks!

Have been playing with the configurations and now got it to a point where i can play for 2 hours without issues. I will keep on trying to perfect it, but your tip helped a lot.
