iPod Touch does not connect to my Dell router

I have recently purchased an iPod Touch and it has some trouble connecting to my TrueMobile 1184 Wireless Broadband Router.  My iPod is able to log on to my network and the connection works okay (not great) for a few minutes, but then the Safari browser tells me that it does not detect a network connection.  I also have a Dell laptop, which can connect to the network just fine.  I have tested my iPod on other wifi networks and it works fine there.  Apple tech support troubleshoot the issue to no avail. 

Does anyone have a solution to this issue?  Why is it that only my iPod has problems with this router?
