Is my Dimension 2400 suitable for wireless internet?

Hello, totally new to home pc thing!

I've purchased a second-hand Dimension 2400 (approx 4 years old) and I don't know if it's already suitable for wireless internet or if I need to install a program to do this. What do I need to look for if the facility is there or what do I need to obtain if it isn't? Hope this makes sense. Thanks.

Dell desktop computers don't come standard with wireless network adapter, and that is especially true for much older computers like the 2400.  I'm not sure what you mean by "wireless internet".  Do you have a wireless router connected to a broadband modem?  You will need that plus a wireless network adapter.  If you have a free PCI slot in the 2400, then you can get a PCI wireless network adapter that would install inside your computer in a free PCI slot.   Otherwise you can get a USB wireless network adapter that plugs into a USB port on the outside of the 2400.

Hi Steve

Belated thanks for your speedy reply to my query. I've now bought and installed a USB wireless adaptor and everything is working okay.

Thanks again
