Is there a Dell Modem Diagnostic Tool?
Hi
I have a Dell Latitude D820, the modem wasn't working properly so I uninstalled it and now can't reinstall it. I have no idea if it's faulty.
Running XP, when I load the current drivers from Dell it doesn't install.
This is from the drivers I'm trying to install.
Title: Communications: Conexant D110,HDA,MDC,v.92,modem Driver

OSes : Windows XP Home Edition,Windows XP Media Center Edition,Windows XP Professional
Languages : Brazilian Portuguese, Chinese-S, Chinese-T, English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Russian, Swedish, Spanish

The install fails with this error
"Driver Installation Failed: Could not find the XXXX device for this driver."
I haven't edited the XXXX part, that's what it says.
When I Add new hardware and manually go to install a modem and browser for the driver, point it at where the INF file is for the correct drivers, and no modems appear in the list with which to install.
I don't have a COM3 just COM1
Are there any modem diagnostic tools I can use to see if the modem is actually ok.?
I've tried Hyperterminal but without a direct port to connect to I can't even get at the AT command set.
Thanks
Aaron
