LAN Activity Monitor????

Question

There appears to be constant activity on my LAN when there should be none.  Is there a way that I can monitor the traffic to show the origin computer, destination computer, and what application(s) may be causing this?   LAN Description:    Linksys WRT-54G Router       Wired - Dimension 8200       Wired - Plextor NAS PX-EH25L       Wired - Motorola SB 5100 Cable Mode       Wireless - Inspiron 8500 w/TrueMobile 1300 PCI card   Through experimentation by shutting down various clients, the traffic appears to be between the Dimension and the Inspiron.  Traffic stops when the Inspiron is put to Sleep, however the Dimension appears to query the LAN continuously even though there is no traffic indicated by the firewall.   Does anyone have suggestions?

'Behind the router' means the router is between your computer and the modem.. My guess all that activity is some program checking for updates.  One way to really tell is to disallow all execptions in the Firewall and see what is trying to get out.

jmwills, thanks for the reply. What do you mean by 'behind the router'? Why is this 'normal activity'? What is causing this traffic? What is the content of this traffic? Thanks, Hank
