Laptop not recognizing network adaptors
My relatively new Inspiron 1525 recently crashed which forced me to reinstall Windows XP. However, since the install, I cannot connect to the interest either from ethernet or from wireless. When I try to reinstall drivers, my computer aborts the installation since it can't detect any adapters present. The adapters don't seem to be present in the device manager. Any reason why this would be the case?
Thanks for any help.

Restoring Your Computer´s Software to the Factory Settings
or
The Desktop/Notebook Utility needs to be installed first(if applicable), then the chipset drivers. If they are NOT installed first, then the rest of the drivers will fail to install.
How to Install Drivers in Microsoft® Windows® on Dell Systems
Since the operating system was re-installed did you remember to go to drivers and downloads, enter your service tag(DO NOT POST SERVICE TAG here or your post will get deleted, since it contains your personal information), and install these drivers in this order.
:emotion-55: Hint :emotion-55: When downloading the drivers, make a folder for each drivers and name it with the device it belongs with to make it easier to install them in the proper order.

I'm having the same problem! I bought the Inspiron 700m in 2005. I had to restore my computer but the only CD i have is for the operating system. I ordered it from dell support online and the representative told me that was the only cd I needed. He said I could download the rest of the drivers online. I was able to restore my computer and I am trying to download the drivers but I cannot connect to the internet wireless and by ethernet cable. What can I do?? Do I need to order the CD for drivers and utilities?
