Latitude C600 Wireless WI FI connection..

Hi,
I need help with getting connected to a WiFi free cafe or even Starbucks.
I am not sure what I need to do. What kind of wireless card needs to be installed?.
Where/how do  I install it?.. Do I need to reconfigure my system so it allows me
to use both a dial up and a wireless connection?. Thanks for any help..:smileyhappy:

Take a look at this Service Manual Guide  :

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

Your C600 has allowance to slot in a "mini-pci" wireless card.

The only model for your laptop seems to be :

Dell True Mobile 1150 Series Mini-PCI Card

or you can go for any wireless PCCard...

Hi,
I wanted to know if the Dell True Mobile 1150 Series Mini-PCI Card  is a PCMCIA wireless card?..
I have two empty slots on the left side of my Latitude C600 laptop. Is that where I put the wireless card?..:smileyhappy:

thanks,
misty

Hi there...
Dell True Mobile 1150 Series Mini-PCI Card  is not a PCMCIA wireless card.
It is meant to be installed within your laptop just like how you would install additional piece of memory.
You will have to get some third party brand of PCMCIA wireless card if you decided to use the PCMCIA slot.

Hi there,

I personaly like everything to be as compact as possible and not be sticking out of my laptop.

But with PCMCIA Wireless Card, you have a choice of different brands and type.
