Latitude C610 docking station netowrk novell problem

Hi everyone,

Please could someone help me in sorting this issue out.  I have one of the old style docking stations (buttons on right hand side) and when my laptop is in the docking station with the network plugged into the docking station, the connection is rather intermitant, it keeps on being lost and then re-connected.  The network we have at work is a 10/100 Mb LAN.

As a result, I've been using the laptops internal network port but in order to get a novell network connection, I have to reboot the PC whilst in the docking station.  I've also once or twice got the dreaded blue screen when trying to log in if I've simply docked the laptop from standby and not rebooted properly.  This used not to happen and so I fear that it's something to do with Novell updates but can't find much on the internet about it.

My problem is in 2 parts I suppose really.  The docking station network card keeps dropping connection and I can't dock my PC and connect the Novell based network without having to reboot the laptop.

Not quite sure what version of Novell is being used actually as there is no Help / about screen for Novell.  If any one knows how to find this out then please let me know.

Hope someone can point me in the right direction regarding these problems.

Many thanks in advance

Rod

Hi, I have a similar issue with a D600. The network goes off and online again, then shortly afterwards the mouse and K/b freeze and if you leave it long enough it bluescreens. It also then has a tendency to disable the NIC in the Bios so you have to go and reenable it before you can use it properly again. This only happens when it is docked ! I have gave up trying to re-dock the laptop without shutting it down completely before hand as it was never successful ! I have got a call logged to see if there is a solution.
