Latitude D520 Internet mystery

Things my Latitdue D520 does:

  • connects to the router wirelessly
  • transfer files from other wireless and non-wireless computers on the network
(all of which can connect to the internet)
  • connect to the router wired

Things my Latitdue D520 doesn't do:

  • connect to the internet

Why?

Any help is appreciated...

ps. does it have anything to do with 'Internet Connection' in my network conections it only popped up after I used my laptop to connect my Xbox360 to Xbox Live (shared connection)?

Does it connect to the internet if you boot to Safe Mode with Network Support?   If so, it tells you that some program running from startup in Normal Mode is causing the problem.

If you are connecting to a router you should not need to use Windows Internet Connection Sharing, unless that is required for the XBox to connect (and I'm not familiar with XBox as I don't have one).

[Edit] to add a word I left out.  Changes the entire meaning of what I meant to say if it stayed missing. :|

best way is goto safemode with networking so you could test if you can go online..
