Hello, I have the same problem, I used the Dell Mobile Broadband utility, and run the self diagnostic, and the result was Failed:HardwareTest. I supose the device is not installed, or not connected to the Motherboard. How can I activate this device? there must be some configuration to do in the BIOS, or something is not pluged correctly for this notebook. mine is Latitude E6410, too, with Win7.
I didn't see any reply for this post.
please, the USB Modem is very annoying.
Best Regards,
Juan Carlos

Having exact same problem with Dell Latitude E6410.
I'm using a SIM that works just fine on another laptop, so I know the SIM is not the problem...
I take out the laptop's battery and insert the SIM in the slot with the correct orientation until it clicks in place, replace the battery, power on the laptop. Remove, wipe with dry cloth, re-insert the SIM just in case it wasn't seated properly.
In the BIOS "System Info" page, I see "Cellular Device ={none}".
Windows 7 does not recognise the device (which must be some version of Dell HSPA Mobile Broadband Mini Card). I have installed the Dell mobile broadband manager software on Windows 7, which says "the mobile broadband device is not communicating".
I have updated the BIOS to the latest version. Out of ideas at this point. Any help much appreciated.

same problem here. please help
in bios -> cellular device = {none}
in desktop (win7 x64 - dell mobile broadband manager) -> device not found
"Dell PC Diagnostics" has done, but anything is good and passed in green color :-)
anyone please help, or help me to uninstall any driver from my machine and install it again! i don't know which is right driver for my mobile broadband module, i can't see anything related to mobile broadband or WWAN in my device manager.
i bought this laptop 1year ago, and 1month later i found that i can use my 3g sim cart on it. i've updated my bios to A13, and i don't know if it has worked before this update.(i mean i don't know if bios update causes "mobile broadband" problem)

From reading this post, have any of you checked to see if you actually have a mobile broadband card installed? As far as I know the SIM slot exists on all the E series laptop but if you did not purchase the mobile broadband card with the laptop, then it will not be installed. It is located in the bottom front left of the laptop.
