latitude xpi cd modem?
I have a latitude xpi cd, i just bought this laptop and had to reinstall windows in it.
How do i tell if it has an internal modem? i bought a xircom ethernet card for it
and cannot get it to detect a modem.
No Events found!

Thank you for using Dell's Community Forum.
That system did not have an internal modem, it used a PCMCIA modem.
You should be able to find a PCMCIA modem at any computer store.

Corey , ok, the xircom realport ethernet card that i have slides into the lower slot on the pcmcia
port, and the card has the phone jack in it, is this what i need?

Well, that card sounds like it is a Network card (NIC) hence it mentions Ethernet in its title.
Unless that card also has a modem (and I don’t remember that it does) you’ll need to get a PCMCIA card that has a modem.
