Lost Ethernet Connection
Hello,
For some reason my computer lost its ability to connect to the modem via ethernet. I am not sure what happened, but normally there is a small green light on the ethernet port and it has now turned red. I unplug the connection and get some yellow flashes and can hear the computer cranking, but never can reconnect to the modem. The computer knows when I unplug the cable so it seems to know that the port is there. Is it possible to buy a new ethernet card and insert it into an available pci slot? I have checked msconfig and had no luck and have power cycled the modem like it is going out of style. The computer is 3 years old, so it is relatively outdated. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Jim

Have you reset the modem? Sometimes they get confused and just need to be powered down (unplug the power cord) for a minute or two.
Also, do you have more than one computer connected to that modem? Does a different computer owrk, or does your computer work on a different network?

Welcome to the forums Jim :emotion-5:
You may need to reinstall the ethernet/network drivers again, if following Larry's advice doesn't help?
