Making a wired network connection preferred over wireless

I have a D600 with Intel Pro 2200BG wireless, and I am trying to figure out whether there is a way to configure it so that my wireless adapter will only connect when I am not connected to a wired network. So far I have been managing the adapter with the Intel driver, and have been turning off the radio when not needed. But it seems to me that it would make sense to be able to make the wired network connection the preferred means of connecting, and in this scenario the wireless adapter would automatically disable. Then once the computer is unplugged from the wired network, the adapter would automatically enable. I know that the wireless network connections can be prioritized in this way, but I haven't been able to figure out how to integrate a wired connection into this pecking order, and if it is even possible.

Am I living in a fantasy world, or am I just not smart enough to figure out how to do this?

Any response would be appreciated.

THANKS

p.s. My ethernet adapter is a Broadcom 570x Gigabit Integrated Controller.

I have the same setup as you, and the only solution I've found is to turn off the radio if I'm going from wireless to wired...Fn+F2 is the quickest way to do that. Otherwise, I think you're out of luck... sorry!
