microsoft security updates messed up my wireless card
Unable to connect my Inspiron 4100 Laptop to True Mobile 2300 after downloading several Microsoft Windows XP patches. (it worked before, in fact, I downloaded via the wireless connection!)
Turned off laptop computer
Turned off wireless True Mobile
Turned off Modem
Turned them all on again.
Tried to connect to wireless modem from desktop computer attached to Dell USB wireless adapter. The desktop was able to connect to the internet via the wireless.
-On the Wireless networks tab, it shows "wireless" as an available network.
My icon in the bottom right for wireless connection still indicates that a wireless connection is unavailable
So I went through the whole process of installing the router again, using the disk, that didn't work.
So I downloaded and replaced the network driver from the Dell website for my 1180 Internal 802.11b mini PCI card....still no luck
I do know that the True Mobile 2300 router is working because my other computer - desktop with the Dell USB wireless adapter can go online.

Do you have the right SSID name on the card as you do the router? Doesn't sound like it. What about encryption? Do the levels match along with the appropriate keys?
