Modem Com Port

My computer has a BCM V.92 56K Voice Modem.  Does this mean I can' t send and receive faxes?  Also, since I have broadband can I still use my modem?  I used the "modem helper" and got a "passed message."  I get a dial tone.  However my modem is connected to COM 3 and in my device manager only COM 1 and LPT1 are listed.  How do I get this modem working?  I am selling this computer and the buyer will need dial up access.

Thanks, this modem is connected to COM3.  How do I change it?

Yes, the modem will support FAX. The modem creates it's own com port. COM 1 is the hardware port on the back of the machine.

There is no reason to change it. When the modem was installed, it created for itself a virtual com port. It's right where it belongs.
