Modem not working
My wife took ownership of her father in laws computer after his recent death and she formatted the computer, re-loaded software all except for the modem. the computer is not detecting the US robotics model 0727, Dell product 3CP3298-DEL. I'm at a loss as to what to do. I 've been to the USR site and found the driver, I think however I can't get it to work. I think I need to load the drive. If that's so, where can I find it?

Michael, I'm not with the computer now so I can't share with you the model at this time, what I can tell you is the operating system is Windows 98. The information I took off of the modem board is:
3COM USRobotics model 0727
US-046XVP-12651-048-B6K1
Product 3CP3298-DEL
I"ve done quite a bit of searching and I have been able to center around the product number, unfortunately I had difficulty last night with the driver I downloaded. Do you think I"m going down the right path?

Well, I'm sure it's a driver issue but not sure exactly why it's not working. Tell us what model computer it is and we'll look from there.
