Modem problem with Dell Latitude C600
Hi,
I got a Dell Latitutde C600 laptop. I can't make its modem working. Its LAN is working fine. I tried downloading modem drives from the site but no help. Could any body please help me with the exact drive for its modem? I don't even know the exact specs of the modem. All I can see is a slot besides the LAN slot for a telephone jack. The operating system is Win2K. Thanks.

Hi,
Thanks for your message.
Please do let me know if you could find a solution. I am thinking of buying another PCMCI card as I am getting fed up with this.
All the best

Hi,
Check that you have a modem. All the C600's had the port, but under the door on the base you will find the answer. Open the door, there is a " mini PCI " card. There are two cables running to it. The big one is the network, the red and black wires go to the modem. If isnt plugged in, you dont have a modem. You may be able to find a brand on it, which should also be on a lable on the base to find the right driver, if you do. There was a couple of brands used, and you could have a modem, network card, combo ( both ) or wireless net in the card bay. I hope this clears things up a bit.
