modem
I have a new Inspiron 1000. When we tried to conect to the net it failed. The modem helper gave the reply Result Code 70 no dial tone at modem yet the phone works when plugged back in. What is the cure please?

That error message is usually caused by one of two problems:
1. A weak phone line signal - call the phone company for this one
2. A failed modem - call the Dell Techies to help troubleshoot this issue and possibly arrange for your modem to be replaced.
