Hi ali imam,

I suggest you to update the wireless card drivers and check if you can use the WiFi connection properly. Inspiron N4050 is configured either with WLAN 1501 Half Mini-Card or Dell Wireless 1501 WLAN card. Please visit the following link and enter the system Service Tag in the “Yes” section and click “Submit”. On the driver download page, click on “Network” section and download the wireless driver listed. Please follow the steps provided in the “Installation Instructions” section and let me know if you need further assistance.

Hi ali imam,

Thank you for your reply.  I suggest you to check the wireless card listed in "Device Manager" and reply to this message with the exact model, so that we provide the appropriate drivers.

Hi ali imam,

Thank you for your reply and it would be upsetting when the wireless feature does not work. Yes, reinstalling Windows may fix this issue as the hardware is re-detected and any errors in software would be fixed. Please let me know your findings after the reinstall.

ali imam,

May I ask, did you install Windows 8 on this system?

If you installed the operating system, did you install the Desktop/Notebook system software(if applicable) and the chipset drivers first? If not, the rest of the drivers will fail to install. How to Download and Install Drivers in the Correct Order

Start with the Desktop/Notebook system software and the chipset drivers and follow the list.

Can you run Finding System Information REMOVE YOUR PRODUCT ID and REGISTERED OWNER, and an ipconfig /all log and post it back here.

What virus program and firewall are you using?

ali imam,

The method is...

How To Restore or Reinstall Microsoft® Windows® on a Dell™ Computer

Windows 8 default virus program is Windows Defender, so these instructions will get you to the firewall to make sure your connection is allowed. Allow Printer past Microsoft Essentials
