My WLAN card stopped functioning properly, so my wireless internet isn't working.

Try powering off the ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Turn on the ISP modem/router first. Wait 30 seconds, then turn on the wireless router.

Can you connect now?

If you're still connected and no internet, then try running ipconfig /all and post it here, maybe it will tell us something.

I tried what you said and it didn't work for me.

I then tried to do the  ipconfig /all so that I could post it. Being that I have never tried to do an  ipconfig /all before, I'm not sure if my lack of success in running one is just my own error somehow. After I clicked on the  ipconfig /all link you had, I did what it said and opened up notepad, pasted the two lines, and saved it as ipconfigall.cmd. Then, I was told to "Double click on the ipconfigall.cmd and it will produce an ipconfig /all log."  Being I haven't had to do this, I typed "ipconfigall.cmd" into my start search and double clicked on it. Then, a black box would briefly flash onto my screen and then disappear before I could read it or paste what ever was on it to my notepad.

I'm not sure how to go about doing this.

OK, let's do it the long way.

Hit the Windows key and the R keys at the same time. Type

CMD          or command if using an earlier version of Windows.

Hit enter. Type

ipconfig/all

Hit enter and post the results here.

You can try

Start, control panel, network and sharing center, wireless network connections, view status and make sure that TCP.IPv6 and V4 are set for DHCP

Since this is an educational website, I suggest that you talk to the IT Department as they may have some settings to block outsiders from getting on the network and your computer may have to be added to their list.

My wireless is working now  after I fiddled with the settings at your direction. I am not sure how the settings were switched, but they are on track now, so thank you!
