Need help badly

I've bought a new Dimension 9150 directly thru Dell online.
Thinking of enjoying the newest model from Dell after paying full payment, the nightmare just started!
The new desktop I've received doesn't allowed me to surf in peace from the very 1st day of arriving.
Internet Explorer will meet a problem & need to close whenever I tried to do some surfing.
It seem like there is faulty software inside my new desktop, but after consultation from the Dell technical side.I was guided to reformat my new desktop, but the problem still exist after the reformating is done!
I've no idea who to turn in regarding this problem I'm facing, not even the Customer Care Dept. reply my desparate email asking for help!
The technical side took almost a week helping me out,but to no avail!
Could any kind soul guide me through this bad patch.

Thanks for reading my mishap.

We need a lot more information such as connection type, error message received, etc.

January 3rd, 2006 12:00

Firstly I'm new to computer,so pardon me for ignorant.

A box will always promt out saying,

Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost.

Please tell Microsoft about this problem.

We have created an error report that you can send to help us improve Internet Explorer. We will treat this report as confidential and anonymous.

To see what data this error report contains, click here.

(Send Error Report) (Don't Send)

This error will always appear & it will close the program I'm surfing.
It's almost impossible to surf in peace.

I'm not sure what connection you're refering, but I'm using SCV cable connection.

Does this happen to every site you visit or just a select few, and if select, which types?

NewIn,

Besides the information jmwills has requested it would be helpful when you get the message to send the error report, if you clicked on the link in that message to view the details of the error report.  In the details, find the AppName and ModName involved in the error and report that here.

This is beginning to look like a Macromedia or DirectX error.  Do youknow hwihc version of DirectX you have installed?  Since these are mostly dating and gambling sites, any chnace your ISP is blocking them?

January 4th, 2006 08:00

Dear jmwills,

I've no idea what version of DirectX have installed.

Is there any way to check, pls guide me cos I've no idea & my knowledge of pc is very limited.

I don't think ISP is blocking them, cos I've been using a laptop before getting this desktop using the same ISP & none such error occur.

Try this link to see if you can find a fix:

www.pcworld.com/downloads/ file_description/0,fid,7135,00.asp

I tried download Comctl32.dll but was told this system does not need this update.

I tried to download the Microsoft DirectX v9.0b but was told that a newer version of DirectX is already installed. No installation necessary.

You still haven't stated what the AppName and ModName are that are involved in the error.  In the error report it should tell you.  (AppName is an abbreviation for Application Name, ModName is an abbreviation for Module Name.  I need to know the name of the Application involved in the error (AppName) and the name of the module involved in the error (ModName).
