Network Connections for Inspirpn B130

My daughter recently reinstalled Windows XP to our laptop using the CD. Since that time, we are only able to get online using the ethernet cable directly from our modem (we currently has Fast Access with Bellsouth). Before we were able to get online wirelessly. When I go to wireless networks, the box is empty. It doesnt let me view properties or anything.  Obviously something was deleted. How can we get it back? Thanks is advance

After reinstalling Windows, did you install the drivers in the proper order.  The Notebook System Software MUST be installed BEFORE even attempting to install any other device drivers and once these are installed, the drivers for the wireless network adapter must be installed, along with drivers for the video adapter, audio adapter, touchpad, etc.

Ok. I have located the discs to reinstall drivers in the proper order. Now the door for the disc wont open! is there an internal mechanism to open the door or does this require a trip to the shop?  Thanks in advance

Tried everything and there is no 'eject' option. I really appreciate your responses.

Try this.  Open Windows Explorer or My Computer.  Right click the icon for the CD drive and select Eject.  Does that open the drive.  Every laptop is different.  I just checked all of the laptops I have access to (none of which are the B130) and none of them have an external mechanism for opening the CD except the normal button on the drive.

Are you running Windows XP?  Are you sure there is no eject option when you right click the CD drive icon?  Strange, because its present on 100% of the 100s  XP computers I have ever worked with.

Did you install the Dell Quickset software?  Try the Fn F2 key combination, it toggles the wireless radio on and off.  Note that it is not instantaneous, so wait a few seconds before hitting the key combination a second time.

Ok. I have reinstalled everything in the correct order.  I am now getting a message stating that my wireless switch may be off.  I dont know where that switch is.
