Newbie - Dimension desktop - How to remove Start-ups?

I bought my desktop in Spring '02.
I've added some memory, but I run AOL, which I understand eats it all!
AOL Tech support told me today to ask Dell how to remove unnecessary start-ups running in background.

Anyone know how to do this?

Thanks, Joyfullyours

Go to the start menu-

Select "Run" and inside the box type in MSCONFIG, Then go to the start up tab and remove what you don't want to run at start up...it's that easy.

Joyfullyyours,

Make sure you also check the response to your question in First Time Users, which gives a link to download MSCONFIG, not a part of Windows 2000. Just in case, there is another one here.
