No Ethernet Connection

Question

I recently reformatted my dimension2400 and now cannot get an ethernet connection to my broadband,i reinstalled the relevant Drivers from the Dell resources CD but keep getting the message'Drivers for this device are not installed (code 28)' My Broadband is working ok via  USB and i've tried downloading a driver from the site to no avail..... Can anyone help?

go to device manager and uninstall the NIC. reboot the system and let windows auto detect the NIC via PnP... then when the wizard appears... browse to the appropriate driver for reinstall.... if this does not work. post back and I'l help ya through option 2

DancinD Also, one _must_ first install Chipset drivers before any of the other. I usually install the network adapter second followed by audio, video and so forth.

Thanks for replying regarding the ethernet connection- but! It still ain't happening...

If I go to "Device manager>Ethernet controller prop>Resources.....it says "This device isn'nt using any resources because it has a problem" ............any ideas?
