No internet connection

Hi all,

i have some problems with my installation of the True Mobile 2300. I would like to connect my Latitude D 600 over the Dell router with my desktop. If i want to use the Setup Wizard to install the network i come only to step 3. I can't get a connection to the internet.

What's wrong.

LmagicS,

Not sure if I have your answer, but I had a similar issue with my D600 and 2300.

I didn't use the wizard, as many people mentioned not to, but I logged into the router like this:

(cut and pasting from BobT's channel changing sticky)

  1. Click the [Start] button, and then click Run.
  2. Type the following text in the Open box: http://my.router

  3. If this is the first time configuring your TrueMobile 2300, or if the user name and password have not been changed, type admin in the User Name and Password fields.

  4. Click the [OK] button.
    The Configuration screen appears.

Not sure where exactly it's listed but there is a field that asks what type of connection to the internet you have, DSL or cable.  I think it defaults to cable.  I had to change this to DSL to get internet access. (I'm using DSL)

I would be very interested to know how you make out with the rest of the setup, because with my system I can't seem to keep the connection (goes down then back up again whether I'm sitting right beside the router or not)

Good luck

Hi,

now i can configure True Mobile 2300 (with http://my.router not the Setup Wizard). I can connect the notebook with router to the internet. But now i have a new problem! I'm connecting with DSL (PPPoE). The password can't save!!. Username can be saved.

Thanks for input!
