NZ tone dialing uses different tones

Question

I received this information (below) from someone in New Zealand and am not sure how I wouls change the setting when I visit NZ and try to use my Inspiron 5100. Anyone have any ideas?   Thanks John   Also remember that NZ tone dialing uses different tones to the US If your useing a pc its easy to change the region to NZ but if your intending to use some other device you need to check that it will work in NZ. NZ uses the CCIT (international standard) tone plan

I got this on another forum. knowing that it is rated, and setting it are two differein things. Look at "regional settings".

In 2K it is under the Control Panel's Phone and Modem Properties - the dialing rules tab - my location there is a pulldown for the country you are in.  The modem is a cpu driven modem so it is probable the tones are changed with the location setting.  These notebooks are sold worldwide with the same Windows and modem cards so it has to work.
