Old Dell Inspiron 6000 wireless not working

I just got this and I have to use it for work but for some reason I cant get the drivers for the wireless, its supposed to be the Intel 2200 something according to belarc and what is listed under the service tag but they will not work, all it will see right now are other computers. Any ideas as to get the drivers or to fix the wireless issue?

Also I was trying to update the BIOS but it wont allow me because the battery is not recognized even though its in there, it wont charge and I read that the bios needs to be updated yet I cant do that since its looking for the battery to be plugged in as well.

See if the following will work for you   http://club.myce.com/f7/how-update-bios-dell-laptops-without-battery-260714/

are you certain this laptop HAS a wireless card? I am asking because if you bought it on eBay, some of the dealers are unscrupulous and strip out components to sell separately

Well it was from work, who I am pretty sure bought it new, it recognizes other computers but wont see my wireless network for some reason, it comes up like there is an adapter in there but no networks just other computers.

I will try that link once I let it finish defragging the drive, I started it two hours ago and its still only at 50% right now, sad the other technicians couldnt do simple maintenance to our machines.
