What operating system? All your connection settings and cookies are now gone and have to be reset. You will need to set up your Internet Connection all over again. Use the Network connection wizard in XP or the Network and Sharing Center in Vista or Win7. Check Tools, Internet Options in Internet Explorer. Go to Connections tab and make sure Dialup connection is NOT selected.

I would also ask whether you followed the steps at http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?docid=347576

what you need to do is open up IE click tools\internet options\connections ...click the radio button, never dial a connection
