packet loss, ethernet card prob or other
I have been experiencing packet loss on my cable connection. I can connect to the internet but I get timed out often. Is this a problem with the network card or the isp. I did a network diagnosis on the network through the help and support, the IP address always passes, the dhcp server and the dns server fail and also the IP gateway fails. I can ping my IP address,0%loss ping my default ip but get loss. When I ping yahoo .com I sometimes can get some loss other times it is good. I ping 172.0.0.1 and was able to ping it but now it is 100% loss. Had cable company come out and changed some cable and connections in basement/ and new modem, got it working but it is now not working. That is the way it goes up and down.
