PCI 2.1 and 2.2
I purchased a Linksys 10/100 Etherfast PCI adapter Model No. LNE100TX version 5.1 which I am considering installing in my Dell XPS T450.
Included under minimum requirements on the Linksys box is "Available PCI 2.2 slot."
The system specifications section of the Dell reference and troubleshooting guide for my computer includes the following: "Bus types...............PCI (version 2.1), ISA, and AGP"
A Linksys technical representative told me that the adapter will work in my computer despite the fact that the Linksys box indicates that a PCI 2.2 slot is required and my computer indicates that its bus type is PCI version 2.1.
Does anyone have any thoughts on whether this Linksys adapter will work in my computer?
Thanks.
