Problem Adding Network Printer Using Vista on new Inspiron 1525

Question

Have Microsoft Network Utility homebase running Microsoft XP SP3. All printers and files are set to Share. Other PC's at home can connect and share files and printers. I have a new Dell Inspiron 1525 with Vista Basic and Trend Micro Security and Network is set to the same Workgroup. The laptop wireless network connects with my Homebase/Workgroup and I can see the share files and printers, however when I run the Window Printer Install to Add a Network Printer to the laptop, I get a error: Connect to Printer Error - 'Windows Cannot Connect to the Printer Access is Denied'. A Dell Tech service guy after 4hrs and having full access both systems was not able to figure out the problem. Please HELP!!

Printer Sharing on XP/Vista Network

Go to Control Panel. Choose printer. Then choose Add Printer.

Choose Add a local printer. Click on Create a new port. The default in the drop down box is Local Port. Do not change that.

Click Next.

A dialogue box will appear asking for you to enter a port name.

Type in the \\computername\printername
