problems with Dell wireless 1390 WLAN mini-card
I can't connect to the internet using wireless. Can access the internet just fine with my cable. All I see is the red x and its not able to detect any networks. I reinstalled drivers, it works fine for a second, and then dies out again. what is going on?

I have the same problem. I can connect to the internet through a router with no security, but not through my router at home. I can connect with the broadcom card fine if it's connected to the router with a cable. But, generally I do not have direct access to the wireless router. I have tried every fix listed on the WORLD WIDE WEB with no success. I've seen that one of Dell's answers is "some people have problems with this card and some people don't". Well, how about trying to help the ones that DO have a problem. The last driver for this card is 11/2008!!!! Come on, I paid as much for my laptop as the people who don't have a problem, I deserve a resolution to my problem. It shouldn't be MY responsibility to purchase ANOTHER WLAN card.
I'm running XP with all the patches and updates.
I've tried aprox 5 - 8 different sets of drivers...not all exactly for my card, but I figured "what the heck". NONE worked. Right now, I'm using the latest drivers, for whatever that's worth.
I've changed the Antenna Diversity to Aux. NO LUCK
I've disabled Bluetooth Collaberation. NO LUCK
I can't change the configuration on all of the routers that I need to connect to. Many of them are not mine.
I've let WZC control my WLAN card. NO LUCK
This is ridiculous.

try to if you're experince change the internal wireless card from a dell 1390 to intel wireless N card cause .
