Problems with wireless network on my XPS M1710 Notebook

I'm having some problems with my Intel (R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection on my XPS notebook. When I start up the computer it works fine and everything seems to be normal, but when I use more bandwidth, like for example downloading files, playing games online and such then the connection stops working after a while and I can't get on again. Have tried to repair the wireless connection and it gets deactivated but fails when it tries to activate it again. It's impossible to get it work again and the only thing I can do to get online again is to reboot the entire computer. Then it works again, until I try downloading or playing again. So it's useless, can't use the wireless service because I have to reboot every 10th minute.

 

What can cause this problem? Is my hardware broke in some way? I have no problems at all when using the normal network card with a network cable. Then everything works fine, the problems only occur when using the wireless connection.
