severe delay when clicking hyperlinks

Question

Hi, I have a brand new Inspiron E1505.  Whenever I click a hyperlink on the Internet, I have a LONG delay, where the entire laptop is completely frozen, and the mouse pointer stays as a hand (the symbol when you first scroll over the link).  After about 10 full seconds, the page will finally pop up.  It's out of the box, spyware free.  I can't figure out what is causing this.  Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

I'm sure the computer came with a security package.  Which one?  Have you tried temporarily disabling the different parts of the security package to see if one of the modules is causing the problem?   Steve
