sharing internet connection with xps m140
We are expecting delivery of XPS M140 due next week from Dell.How can this laptop be added to our current 3 desktops sharing high speed connection .(AOL/roadrunner) broadband
What steps would I need to follow ?Current Router is Netgear Wireless/Wired Router M814.
Please your help is very appreciated.Thanks.

Assuming you only want to use the network to access the internet...
Select the wireless card utility (you should determine wether you want to use the Dell Wireless Utility or the WIndows XP version) configure the SSID of your laptop to match your Router, select the type of encryption you have configured on the router and match the types and passphrases and you should be good to go!

Did you order the M140 with a wireless network adapter? If not, then you will need one. Otherwise, turn it on and see if it detects your wireless network.

Thanks guys,Intel PRO 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11 b/g, 54Mbps) included in the order.
It's been a while since my router was setup,thus cannot remember what's the SSID and encryption that would be needed to be matched, and how to find them if I need to.
That's why I would need steps configuring the laptop to share the broadband connection.I've been reading sevaral posts for hours getting bits of informations here and there. Your help is appreciated.

If you did not change the SSID and enable encryption on the router yourself (which you probably would never have done if you never used the router for wireless networking) then these settings will be at their default settings (no encryption). If in doubt, you can always reset the router to its default settings by pressing and holding the reset button on the back of the router.

Thanks.Would this Netgear Wireless/Wired Router M814 be ok regarding data throughput-speed due to it maximum wireless bandwidth of 11-Mbps with the Intel Pro 2200 internal wireless card?
What needs to be done in order to increase data flow, say, data throughput-speed performance to equaled the speed of a 100-Mbps hard-wired Ethernet? Any special accesorises need to be purchase such as :wireless access point or something else to achieve such speed?
