Solution losing network connection with 1400 True Mobile

Within 5 minutes my Treu mobile 1400 PCI card lost connection.

Another network was seen by this card and it closes my connection with the question

witch network to connect to.

Solution:

Don't let XP configure your wireless network automatic!

If you disable this function, you get the same option in the Dell TrueMobile WLAN Utility.

In the Dell utility, you can also choose the option for preferred networks in Wireless network tab.

My system is a Dell Inspiron 8600 with Truemobile 1400 and i use the Linksys WRT54G router.

YOU HAVE TO USE THE DELL TRUEMOBILE UTILITY TO MAKE YOUR WIRELESS SETTINGS.

GOOD LUCK      PAUL

Thank you for posting this info verifying my suspicion that WZC and the driver interact.

The solution is for those with the 1400 not working, or working for long.

Yes, but that solution only works if you do NOT need WPA, and in my particular case, I do.....

If you have Dell Quickset loaded, look at the wireless section there and make sure it is not checked to let Quickset handle it.

John,

Not sure if you were answering to me, and not sure I understood perfectly your answer.  The quickset app is not insalled on my system, are you saying that there is an option to manage WPA in the quickset App ?

Thanks,
