start and stop downloads

When I'm on the internet my pages will load for a little bit the stop. Load a little more and stop. I have no corrupted files, no viruses or spyware. I've defragged and dumped cookies and temp internet pages. Does anyone here have any advise?
                                              Thanks

Try this, go to start Run and type in  cmd   hit ok, now type   ping www.yahoo.com   (space between g and w)  hit enter

wait for this to finish, now at the top part of the command prompt window, right click, select Edit then Select All, now do it again and this time select Edit  Copy, then paste this into the forum reply.

Is this what it's supposed to do?

Well your ping times are good and no packet loss=good connection to the outside world

Does it do this all the time or intermittant?

What model PC do you have and what phone modem?

Also web pages are getting bigger every day so this will reduce page loads dramatically on dial up..

There is a program called proximitron that is abandon ware, but still available to use, that will filter out all the ads and other bandwidth consuming useless stuff, makes pages load faster. A little complicated to use but worthwhile on a dial up connection..
