Start-up and shut-down errors on E510 after installing LinkSys WMP54GS

Question

After installing a Wireless-G PCI Adapter with SpeedBooster (model WMP54GS, driver verson 3.100.46.0) on a new Dell Dimension E510 running Windows XP Pro, I started getting the following errors:

During start-up:

Linksys Wireless Network Monitor
Access violation at address "some-hex-address" in module "WMP54Gv4.exe". The memory referenced at "some-hex-address" could not be read.

During shut-down:

PCARmDrv.exe - Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly "some-hex-address". Click OK to terminate the applicatoin.

I have the same problem with a WUSB54GS, I get a blue screen with a RNDISMP.SYS error. I have a lot of different things nothing has worked.

LinkSys support so far refuses to acknowledge this is a problem despite multiple reports I've found around the internet. All they will tell you is to uninstall and reinstall the software. Anyhow here's what I did that seemed to clear things up: Uninstall the LinkSys software via Add/Remove programs control panel. Make sure the Wireless Zero Configuration service is running. With the card installed (but no software) go to the Device Manager and load only the driver for the LinkSys card. Let Windows find the LinkSys driver and use Windows to manage the wireless card instead of the extra LinkSys software.

I have had the same problem with that wireless adapter, and the same thing happened to my E510, this has helped me some, but i am still a bit confused.
