Thomson 'Speedtouch' modem not recognised

I have a Dimension 4100 running Windows 98SE. I have recently got Broadband from Onetel. My problem is that the fax program will not recognise my external Thomson Speedtouch modem connected to a USB port. Everything else works fine, I just can't send/receive faxes etc. Any ideas as my particular modem is not in the list when you press 'add new modem'.

lufclufc,

Your fax software will require a regular phone modem to be installed and to have a phone line attached to it.  This is normal for fax software.  Your broadband modem will not meet that requirement.  You can have your broadband modem and your phone modem installed at the same time.

lufclufc,

Simply leave your phone modem in the system and leave the driver installed.  Your fax software will be able to find your modem with no problems.
