"TrueMobile Bluetooth Module in Firmware Upgrade"
Hopefully someone has already encountered this message and can offer some advice.
I have a Latitude D600 with a Truemobile 300 Bluetooth module running WinXP Home/SP2. I have installed the latest Dell drivers (R82522) for this module. The problem is in the Device Manager, the module appears as "Dell TrueMobile Bluetooth Module in Firmware Upgrade". This prevents the Bluetooth software from seeing the module. I keep getting the "Bluetooth radio is turned off. Press Fn+F2 to turn it on". I have disabled the Windows Bluetooth software that came with SP2.
I have tried also tried all the older Dell Bluetooth Drivers for the TM300 and get the same problem.
The description in the Device Manager implies that the problem with the module is a firmware issue. For that reason, I've tried loading firmware (bc01.dfu) that came with one of the older Dell drivers (R53708) using both the Dell firmware updater (F84499_btdfuapp.exe) and the BlueCore DFU Wizard from CSR with no luck. I get the messages "Flash upgrade failed..." or "The firmware file is not intended for this device". The think the module I have is a bc02 module which could explain why the bc01 firmware does not load.
How should I proceed? Am I on the right path? Can someone point me to the correct firmware (bc02)? Or, should I cut my losses and give up? Thanks in advance.

first download drivers for truemobile versions A02 (R65891) and A05 with firmware included (R77162).
1. Installation of driver for Truemobile in firmware upgrade (in DFU mode)
Run A05 driver, it will extract files to c:\dell\77162\... and then tries to run setup itself, but terminates with "Device not found" message after "press FN+F2 to turn it on" message. Go to c:\dell\77162\... directory and copy both .sys files to windows\system32 directory (by this you will avoid later "invalid service section in INF" message during installation of the driver).
Go to system manager, find "USB device" which represents truemobile card (or it may be "Dell truemobile bt module in firmware upgrade" with error report), doubleclick it and press reinstall driver. Pick "choose location of the driver" (I'm not sure, I don't know how is this exactly in english windows - I'm translating from czech), then set path to c:\dell\77162\... and driver should be installed properly. After this there should be "Dell truemobile bluetooth module in firmware upgrade" in system manager working properly.
Don't delete extracted installation A05 yet.
2. Getting firmware upgrade utility
Run A02 driver and go through all the installation. The difference from A05 is, that A02 doesn't check whether the card is present so it installs the bt software to program files (which we will need).
BTW, this is even more stupid from dell than previous nonsense with mixed steps of driver installation (first services, second files instead of vice versa). In order to flash firmware you must have card with firmware loaded to be allowed to install software needed for flash of firmware (!!!). That technician must have been very angry with his boss or just a sadist.
Now the sowanted firmware flasher is here ... c:\program files\dell\bluetooth software\bin\btdfuapp.exe
3. Flashing firmware
Run the application metioned above and as a firmware file choose c:\dell\77162\...\svcpack\dell.dfu (this is why to download special A05 package instead of normal R82522 or newer, where dell.dfu isn't) and start flashing.
It is ussual that it takes some 10-20 minutes to go, so be patient.
After completing this, windows shall find a new USB Device and install it as "Dell truemobile bluetooth module" and blue LED shall be lit. Then you can uninstall dell bluetooth software from control panel (!) and install version A05 which now sees the card.
