The only thing you could do with your existing router is add a wireless access point.  But why bother?  A new wireless router will have 4 ethernet ports, just like your current router, and a wireless access point costs a lot more than a wireless router (why?  - probably because of the lack of demand for wireless access points).  Replacing your existing router with a wireless router will give you the ability to connect up to 4 computers by wired ethernet, and up to 250 more computers by wireless.   For any computer that does not have a wireless network card, you will have to purchase and install a wireless network card.   For desktop computers these can either be USB (which would plug into a USB port) or PCI (which would require installation in an open PCI slot inside the computer).

Do your research on wireless routers a lot of them a basic and you will get “dead” spots thought out your house, but if you live in a apartment or something similar then a basic one should be fine. I have a basic one and it gets bad range on my top floor in the house, old wiring in the house can affects it and huge concrete walls. I would recommend getting something with muti-anatine in side the wireless hub, neat clean and friendly.

Like a net gear mimo?

Hi,

Below is how your network would look like after installing an Access Point. For the Desktop computer you would need either a Wireless USB adapter or a Wireless PCI card.
