Unable to connect to LAN

Due to the pop-ups, I ran spybot and adware and I ended up loosing my connection to LAN.
I have a Dell 8100 with integrated Network Connection.  Currently, my system device area shows the following with a 'yellow ?'

Other Devices
   PCI Device
   PCI Simple Communications Controller
   Unknown device

Also, under the Unknown Device (network icon), these items have a yellow '!'
3 Com 3C920 Integrated Fast Ethernet Controller (3C905C-TX compatible)
   Direct Parellel
   WAN Miniport (IP)
   WAN Miniport (L2TP)
   WAN Miniport (PPTP)

Each time when I tried to undate the 3Com 3C920 driver, I would get the proper driver but then after restart the PC, the settting would get back to the unknow state.

Pleaes advise and assist,
Joseph

Try this:

Go to safe mode and remove all items with a yellow question mark.

reboot.

You will need all your drivers when Windows starts up again.  This should fix your problems unless something outside of the driver has been deleted in which case you might want to try re-installing whichever OS you have over the top of your existing installation to effectively replace the missing files.

When you reboot your computer and it starts coming up (e.g. you see the memory being counted) start hitting the F8 key once a second until you see a menu that asks how you'd like to boot.  Select safe mode (not safe mode with command prompt or network access).  Once you're into Windows, go to the device manager like you've done before and delete all the devices with yellow question marks and reboot.  Once you're back into Windows again, you will need you're drivers ready.
