Unable To Get Wireless Card Working

I just bought a Dell Inspiron 6000 for my wife. It works fine for the most part, but I can't seem to get the wireless card set up.  It was working when I got up and running on the system for the first time (it indicated that there were some wireless connections available).  However, after I got the latest live updates from Norton Internet Security, it's possible that it could have disabled the system.  I also noted that when Windows XP is enabled as the Wireless Manager, the Intel PROSet/Wireless application is disabled.  Maybe that is more likely.  How do I deactivate Windows XP Wireless Manager so that I can use the Intel PROSet software?  Thanks.

I don't think you will find that Intel's utility will do any better than windows (I removed the Pro/Wireless utility from my system), but ...

Right click on the connection, choose Properties.
Click the Wireless Networks tab.
Uncheck the 'Use Windows to configure my wireless network settings' checkbox.

You may also stop windows management by turning off the Wireless Zero Configuration service.

Thanks for the information.  Since you said either utility works just as well, I just went into the control panel tab under network connections after reading your message and made sure that the Windows utility was enabled.  That seemed to solve the problem.  Guess there wasn't a conflict with Norton after all.  I appreciate the help.
